Israeli forces pushing people from north to south Gaza will only worsen humanitarian catastrophe

Israeli evacuation orders for several areas of northern Gaza are forcing tens of thousands of people to flee southwards, as the area is targeted by airstrikes and a ground offensive. In this latest forced mass displacement, residents of Beit Hanoun, Jabalia and Beit Lahia have been told to move to the overcrowded so-called humanitarian zone between Al-Mawasi and Deir al-Balah, where a million people are already living in deplorable conditions. The area remains unsafe for civilians and aid workers, as the Israeli army continues to attack it repeatedly.
