Key members of the Inter-Agency Standing Committee (IASC) issue a joint statement: "There is no alternative to UNRWA"

If implemented, the laws passed by the Israeli Parliament against UNRWA would be "a catastrophe for the humanitarian response in Gaza." Created by the United Nations General Assembly, the IASC is the main coordination mechanism for a coherent and rapid international response to humanitarian emergencies. The statement, co-signed by 15 humanitarian and UN organizations, describes an "apocalyptic" situation in northern Gaza. It calls on all parties to the conflict to protect civilians and civilian infrastructure, facilitate humanitarian operations and respect international humanitarian law. It also calls for a lasting and unconditional ceasefire and the release of all hostages.
