Nearly 603,000 children under the age of 10 are vaccinated against polio

Since the campaign launched on February 22, 2025, 99 percent of the target population has been reached. No cases of polio have been reported since an unvaccinated 10-month-old child tested positive for poliovirus in August 2024, but wastewater samples collected in December 2024 and January 2025 confirmed transmission of the virus.
