MSF identifies malnutrition in 1 in 4 young children and pregnant women at Gaza facilities

MSF staff receive an increasing number of malnourished patients at our clinics, while they themselves struggle to find sufficient food. Across screenings of children aged 6 months to 5 years old, and of pregnant and breastfeeding women, at MSF facilities the previous week, 25 percent were malnourished. At the MSF clinic in Gaza City, in the north of the Strip, the number of people enrolled for malnutrition treatment has quadrupled since May 18, while rates of severe malnutrition in children under 5 tripled in the previous two weeks alone.
