Many of them have no protection or support. Their reduced mobility, chronic health problems, and the collapse of the health and support system on which they previously depended contribute to their vulnerability during the fighting. Frequent forced displacement, chronic shortages of food and drinking water, and living conditions in overcrowded and unsanitary places exacerbate the risks to which they are exposed.
